The four-part series follows two seemingly unconnected characters – a vicar in a small English town, and a prisoner on death row in the US – whose lives collide when a teacher is kidnapped and held hostage in a cellar.
David Tennant, Stanley Tucci, Lydia West and Dolly Wells all star, with Tennant previously admitting the series was "terribly appealing to be part of".
American actor Tucci, who plays the titular Inside Man, Jefferson Grieff, previously cited admiration of Tennant (and of Moffat's Sherlock) as his reason for accepting the role.
